Today, we are going to explore two of the last experiments we intend to carry out at MDRS!
Experiments: Air Purifier, SatCom, and Kinesiology, Biomonitoring, Spit Test.
Experiment referent: Luca Rossettini????????, PhD and Dr Nadia Maarouf????????
Equipment needed for the first set of experiments:
1. Electric transformer, PC, laptop, microscope, Petri dishes, gloves, and glasses.
2. Computer, laptop, power supply, D-Orbit software, radio, antenna.
The first experiment will monitor the air quality by measuring the contamination. It will also serve as a bacteriological detector.
The purpose of the second experiment is to measure the communications level between the GCS and on-orbit satellites through amateur radiofrequency.
Equipment needed for the second set of experiments:
1. Questionnaires.
2. Suits, Rechargeable batteries, and charger.
3. Cortisol test kits.
The kinesiology experiment will focus on body movement, addressing physiological and biomechanical dynamics and related stress levels after the exercise routine.
Biomonitoring is important for the health of the crew. The collected data will be sent to a specialised lab to be analysed.
The spit cortisol test will measure the cortisol level affecting two crew members. It plays an important role in preventing potential health risks, such as high blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.
